1. Purpose
Treesafe Australia recognises that as an arborist company, our work directly impacts the natural environment and the communities we serve.
This policy outlines our commitment to sustainable practices that protect ecosystems, enhance biodiversity, reduce environmental impact, and support long-term community wellbeing.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and business operations of Treesafe Australia, including tree care, removal, consultancy, and administrative functions.

We are committed to sustainability through:

4. Policy Commitments
4.1 Environmental Sustainability
- Conduct tree works in line with Australian Standards (AS 4373, AS 4970) and relevant environmental legislation.
- Prioritise tree preservation, pruning, and health management over removal whenever feasible.
- Minimise waste by recycling green waste into mulch, compost, or timber products.
- Reduce carbon emissions by maintaining efficient fleet operations, using low-emission equipment where possible, and consolidating travel.
- Implement water- and energy-efficient practices in both field and office operations.
- Support biodiversity by advising on and planting appropriate native species.
4.2 Social Sustainability
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff, contractors, clients, and the community through compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation and best practice.
- Provide ongoing staff training in arboriculture, sustainability, and safety practices.
- Engage with local councils, community groups, and not-for-profit organisations to support urban greening and tree-planting initiatives.
- Educate clients and the public on the value of trees, ecosystem services, and sustainable land management.
4.3 Economic Sustainability
- Operate ethically and transparently, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, codes of practice, and industry standards.
- Invest in durable, efficient, and safe equipment to reduce costs and environmental impact over time.
- Promote fair employment practices, professional development, and secure local jobs.
- Deliver value to clients through sustainable solutions that balance environmental, social, and financial outcomes.
5. Implementation & Responsibilities
- Management: Integrate sustainability considerations into decision-making, resource planning, and project delivery.
- Employees: Adhere to this policy in daily operations and seek opportunities to reduce environmental impact.
- Contractors: Follow company sustainability practices when engaged in works.
6. Monitoring & Review
- Conduct annual reviews of sustainability performance, including waste diversion, carbon footprint, and community engagement.
- Update this policy as required to reflect new regulations, industry standards, and environmental goals.
7. Communication
This policy is available to all employees, clients, contractors, and the public via our website and office.
Awareness and compliance will be promoted through induction training, toolbox talks, and regular staff communications.
This policy will be reviewed regularly by management to ensure its ongoing effectiveness.
